I go out and check the connections, and can hear a "chattering" behind the grill. Eventually the light stops blinking and the plow will start working again. The salter worked fine before we took it off the truck and now that I have it installed on the new truck I have power as soon as I plug the spreader in. The truck doesnt even need to be on and it runs as soon as its plugged in.

None of the controllers turn on until the plow is connected. That was indeed the case. Fired right up as soon as I plugged the plow in. My Fisher controller won’t turn on unless the plow is connected. It sounds to me like something is fucky with your wiring.
