I've played all three AC games on Duckstation before without issues. Tested to confirm, I can't replicate the problem. I'm getting 60 fps at 3x resolution. Gameplay video. Duckstation settings. I used to use ePSXe for years and years, and it'll definitely work on all the PS1 AC games, but Duckstation is nicer and kinda "just works." Even binding your controller for the emulator itself works easily, there's an auto-bind button for xbox and dualshock/dualsense controllers to map it to a PS1 controller.

Armored Core 1 is the first entry and should be given the leniency as such. The balancing is generally very poor compared to later entries and it should still be a blast for newcomers, but some parts are underpowered to the point of getting removed or reworked in later entries while others are hilariously overpowered to the point of absurdity.
